Have you seen ‘You, Me & Tuscany’?

‘You, Me & Tuscany’ Review – A Charming Throwback Style Romance by National Journalist Brandon Pope

You, Me & Tuscany doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but packs a sentimental and charming punch that can make even the biggest romance cynic melt — even if for just a couple of hours.

The film follows a glamorized squatter as she heads to Italy – with no place to stay and no plan – for what’s supposed to be a reset of her messy life. When she finds out all the hotels in the area are booked, she decides to break into the home of a man she hit it off with in a New York hotel bar (yeah, it’s as bonkers as it sounds). Once she’s caught by the family, she lies and says she’s engaged to the man – only to stumble into romance with his adopted brother, self-discovery, and all the messy, feel-good moments you expect along the way. Cue the chance encounters, the inevitable tension, and yeah… You already know how this ends.

Let’s be real: there’s nothing groundbreaking here. Director Kat Coiro paces the film in a flashy way, with ear-pleasing needle drops and scenic shots of the Amalfi Coast. Sun-soaked streets, dreamy coastlines… this movie is basically a soft launch for your next Italy trip. The screenplay is basic, predictable, and doesn’t even try to do anything new or unique with the rom-com playbook. But it hits every note it needs to. That can be more than adequate to build around a date night at the movies, which this project is practically made for.

What it lacks in cinematic finesse it makes up for in real charm — the kind that sneaks up on you and makes you smile… Read the rest of the review by National Journalist/Host Brandon Pope on his Substack.
