This week I decided to take a closer look at the path to citizenship in 2025 thru the eyes of a couple of advocacy programs. The dedicated efforts of organizations like Woori Juntos (Nonprofit) and SEDES, are on the front lines, empowering immigrant communities through vital services such as English classes, civics test preparation, and application assistance. While the $760 application fee and language barriers remain significant challenges, representatives from both agencies underscore the profound benefits of citizenship, including enhanced protections, expanded access to resources, and invaluable rights, which are crucial for fostering better representation.
