Irreconcilable Differences

His Words: Lazy, just plain lazy. She would get finished eating and wait literally 4-5 hours to put up her plate. Who does that?! Washing, folding and putting up clothes took 4-5 days and don’t get me started on dog care, and personal items. A bra here, a shoe there, nothing was ever in order. She wanted the dog, so I got her one. Did she clean it? No. All she ever did was feed it. She barely cleaned up after it. 1 whole year of being married and she couldn’t adjust her ways. Smh.

Her words: Lazy? How quickly he forget. When I first met him I did something I shouldn’t have done: I played wife to a boyfriend who didn’t know how to be a boyfriend. His house was as filthy as a bachelors house could get. Dirty bathroom, rodents, and he didn’t even own a mop. Not only did I buy cleaning materials I scrubbed the black tub white, got rid of the rodents, and cleaned up after them. Now he trips because I wash and dry clothes but take days to put them up? Ungrateful is what I call it.

His Words: Ungrateful my azz! I can never tell her anything anymore. She can find all the fault in the world in me. But I find a couple in her and all of a sudden it’s world war 3! I know I’m dismissive, I know I am prickly but I am not going to walk on eggshells every time I say something she doesn’t like. Sometimes I feel these differences are just irreconcilable.

Her words: Irreconcilable differences indeed. For you to assume the worst in someone is horrible. You should look for and expect the good in them. Do you know how it feels to have your husband look at you with disgust? Do you know how it feels for him not to expect you to take care of your wifely duties because maybe you were feeling down that day? How about when you do things he should have done like taking out the trash or just looking out for him? Does it count for anything. When a person no longer appreciate or respect you, I think it’s time to go. Or is it?
